10 Good Bollywood Movies Went Flop In Theaters

Bollywood produces nearly thousand movies annually but only few movies turn out as Hit movies.

Mostly all the good movies produced, gets the ‘hit’ tag or gets an ‘average’ tag by its box-office collections but sometimes, even the good movies flops in theaters.

So today, we came up with a list of flop movies which were really good.

1. Mera Naam Joker

Raj Kapoor has huge expectations from Mera Naam Joker and the movie had huge budget. Raj Kapoor had mortgaged all his assets including RK Studios to ensure movie’s release.

It took six years to complete movie and also the movies has a world record of having two intervals because of movie’s long run time which was 4 hours 15 minutes.

But this didn’t went as planned. The movie tanked at box office and was crictised for unusual plot. It wasn’t like movie was bad, in fact movie was appreciated later.

Mera naam joker movie was ahead of its time. Plot of the movie was new for that time’s audience. That reason is recognized as main reason of failing on box office.

2. Silsila

The movie had everything what was needed in its time to succeed on box office. It was shot in beautiful locations and the movie had some lovely songs as well. Furthermore, it was sort of based on real life love triangle between the lead actors, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Rekha.

Still somehow it failed make place for itself in audience’s hearts. Later, movie gained Bollywood’s ‘cult classic’ status.

3. Andaz Apna Apna

Well, this movie flopped on box office too. It has two khans as lead roles and both actors were very popular in that era. Its was a comedy movie and the movie wasn’t bad at all. The movie was released two decades ago in 1994 and as of now, Andaz Apna Apna has gained a ‘cult’ status

4. Citylights

The movie had a emotional story. Citylights movies shown us a story of a struggling couple who were trying to live in Mumbai but as we know Mumbai is not for everyone. I don’t want to spoil the movie more but I must tell that the movie’s ending was a happy ending as we are used to see in Bollywood’s comorcial movies.

Rain coat was adapted from Gift of the Magi. The movie shows one side love story of characters Manoj and Neerja which played by Ajay Devgan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

It’s a lighthearted story of a common man who works as a security guard but movie takes a turn when the movie character Madholal gets injured in a terrorist attack. The movie has a beautiful massage. I recommend to watch this movie.

7. Kadvi Hawa

One can understand in a first that the movie is about agrarian crisis and the global warmingplaye in which Sanjay Mishra plays roles of a blind farmer. Sanjay Mishra acting in this movie is undoubtedly best.

The movie trys to give a wake up call to the society and tried to show what implications global warming might have.
